Escape to Turtle Bay, Hawaii

The immaculate Turtle Bay Resort, located on Oahu’s stunning Fabled North Shore is not only frequented by celebrity A-listers, but has also provided the backdrop to a number of Hollywood blockbusters, most famously the hit flicks Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Pirates of the Caribbean IV.

During a recent trip to the island of Oahu, Hawaii, ScrubySnacks decided to take a break from the bustle of Waikiki with a scenic drive to the infamous getaway of Turtle Bay.

Eateries

There is certainly no shortage of places to eat at Turtle Bay, and the resort is proud to offer fresh, healthy, sustainable and locally sourced ingredients at each of its onsite restaurants.

Enjoy the freshness of modern Hawaiian seafood at Pa’akai, farm to table offerings and beautiful bay views at the North Shore Kula Grille, world cuisine and a beach side location at Ola, all day grazing and the green surrounds of the golf course and North Shore at Lei Le’s Bar and Grill, watch the local surfers catch waves from the Point Sunset and Pool Bar, or enjoy the lively local entertainment at the more casual Surfer Bar.

Activities

No clue of what to do during your stay at Turtle Bay? Thankfully help is at hand thanks to the Oahu Guidepost Concierge, located in the main lobby of the resort. These proud professionals are available at all times of the day to help put together a perfect itinerary to ensure that you don’t miss a thing. From surf lessons to swimming with sea turtles, helicopter rides and humpback whale spotting, hiking, biking or even horseback riding, there is plenty available to keep you entertained. For keen golfers, the greens of Turtle Bay’s Palmer and Fazio courses are world renowned, and so well worth having a swing at.

Romance

Named as one of Hawaii’s Top Ten Honeymoon Hotels it’s no wonder that Turtle Bay Resort has seen over 350 weddings take place over the years. In fact, it’s the only Hawaiian hotel that boasts its very own, completely private beach, making it a hot spot for romantic ceremonies and celebrations.

If you’re looking for something really special on your vacation, why not indulge in a relaxing couples massage from the comfort of a private ocean side cabana, or even a romantic horseback ride along the dramatic coastline.

Turtle Bay really does have all the fabulous ingredients to set your heart aflutter.

ScrubySnacks Tip:

Take advantage of the daily complimentary snorkel hire and head down to the protected waters of the private beach front nice and early. Once in the warm waters, you are guaranteed to catch a glimpse of the colourful marine life that inhabits the area.

Take an easy hike to the nearby Waimea Waterfall for a workout and a refreshing dip. Just make sure you wear your swimwear under your work out wear so you are ready to dive on in.

Even better, simply grab a bottle of bubbles, head to your private balcony and watch the magnificent sunset over the glistening ocean to the sounds of the crashing waves and swaying palms. Now that’s what ScrubySnacks would call Hawaiian heaven!
